Tim Sakkers Wins the I4H Young Innovator Award 2026 with ReveltaDx: Transforming Heart Disease Diagnosis in Women

Valorization

Entrepreneurial post doc Tim Sakkers has won the I4H Young Innovator Award 2026 at Innovation for Health 2026! The award recognizes the work on ReveltaDx. This innovation aims to improve the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in women, by ‘revealing’ coronary heart diseases that have historically been overlooked, such as vasospasms and microvascular dysfunction. ReveltaDx mainly focuses on Angina with No Obstructive Coronary Arteries (ANOCA), a condition that predominantly affects women and remains difficult to diagnose. RevelaDx combines a minimally invasive blood test with molecular profiling and artificial intelligence to identify disease-specific signatures. This may enable faster, more patient-friendly, and less invasive diagnostics compared to current clinical pathways. This work contributes to improved recognition and management of cardiovascular disease in women and aligns with broader efforts to address sex differences in cardiovascular care.
